Well that is my first day done as the new Chief Executive of Logos Scotland. Website is up and running, twitter and facebook all good to go. Board all contacted and some key stakeholders all emailed. Its all very exciting. There is so much to do and really looking forward to getting stuck in.
One of the first major jobs to do is to pull together a strategy for Logos and turn the dreams of the Board into reality. Strategy development is something that I first got into about 10 years ago in a former job. it is a fascinating process and there are a lot of tools that can be used to bring thoughts together. I find the most useful question is of course “so what”?
If we decide to take this course of action “so what”? If we decide to pick this issue to work on “so what”? Where will it take us, what difference do we want to see, what does good look like, how do we know when we have succeeded. All of these are key questions when it comes to writing a strategy. Why are we doing it, what is it we want to achieve, are there other ways of getting there, and how will be we know when we get there?
These are just some of the many questions I will be discussing with the Board and key stakeholders over the next month or so, as well as setting up all the usual processes and functions of a working charity.
Lots to do!
